We are a well-oiled machine when it comes to executing your design project which means that you will never fall through the cracks. STEP ONE
the discovery.

What’s happening: We’re getting to know each other to determine right fit for the project, availability of schedule, and ensuring you feel confident in our ability to carry out your project.
Feelings: Most clients feel nervous or unclear if this is for them in the beginning which is why we’ve created an in-depth discovery process to help you feel comfortable and confident moving forward. Once we get into the Consultation, these feelings shift to excitement to get started.
STEP TWO
the concept.

Timeline: 3 Weeks + 1 Week for you to review
What’s happening: We’re busy developing the initial concept for your space so that we can present it to you and ensure that we’re on the right track before sourcing and your binder preparation.
Feelings: Most clients feel excitement and experience joy and fun during this initial Honeymoon period. Some will feel anxious or nervous that we’ll “get your style”. Rest assured that this is normal and that nothing will proceed unless you approve and love it.

STEP THREE
the design.

Timeline: 3 Weeks + 1 Week for you to review
What’s happening: We are sourcing all of the things that make your home come to life and preparing visuals so that you are confident that everything will look incredible.
Feelings: Because we’ve had a number of meetings to this point discussing design, most clients feel excited and have very few changes at this stage.
However, it’s completely normal to have a LOT of questions. Don’t feel shy to ask! When we walk you through the revisions process we will ask you to provide your questions and revisions in one single document or email. Ask as many as you’d like! It’s important that you feel confident in your design and that you love it.
STEP FOUR

Timeline: 2 Weeks
What’s happening: We are busy creating the documentation that will ensure that your design is easily communicated and carried out.
Feelings: You’re anxious to get started and want to get your hands on that design! This is a very labour-intensive and detailed part of our job so your patience is appreciated. We don’t want to rush the details because this is what ensures the execution of the design can be carried out by the trades flawlessly.

STEP FIVE
the procurement.

> Receiving, Inspection + Handling Damages

Timeline: Between 6 weeks to 18+ months depending on the project scope
What’s happening: We are working behind the scenes with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure your product arrives safely. Your Designer will walk you through the estimated timeline based on what you’ve ordered.
Feelings: This part of the project is very quiet for you, but quite busy for us! We’ll send bi-weekly updates regarding what’s been received and any product delays. Most clients feel anxious to get things done, but we promise that it’ll be worth the wait!
STEP SIX – Available Upgrade

Timeline: Varies based on project scope
What’s happening: To protect yourself in the case of a future claim, you’ll enter into a contract directly with your trades. We cannot act as a General Contractor. However, we can help you to manage, organize, and hold trades accountable!
Feelings: This is by far the most stressful point of the job for clients. Things WILL go wrong no matter how perfect the plans were. Expect it to happen. There may be pieces that go in which you don’t love on their own either. It can be difficult to see how it’ll pull together in the end. Communication with your Designer is key when you’re feeling nervous. Call us anytime.
STEP SEVEN
the styling plan.

Timeline: 2-4 Weeks Prior to Installation
What’s happening: We will schedule a final meeting to go through your styling preferences. This meeting is very similar to our Style + Ideas Session we held at the beginning. There is nothing for you to prepare ahead. We will prepare a personalized styling plan and shop for any additional styling items that we’ll bring with us on installation day.
Feelings: This is where the emotional rollercoaster begins to turn around and most clients will feel excited about their project again.
STEP EIGHT
the install + reveal.

Timeline: 1-5 days
What’s happening: Our team will be in your home installing furnishings, decor, and styling your space in preparation for the big reveal.
Feelings: Most clients spend the day nervous that they won’t like it. However, once we call you home, the nerves dissipate and it’s time to celebrate and explore your new space!

the style + ideas session.
Try Us Before You Buy Us…
Our first meeting is always what we call a Style + Ideas session in your home. At this meeting you will be meeting your project team, walking us through the space, and discussing your challenges and ideas with us.
The Style + Ideas Session is all about us getting to really understand and nail down your functional needs and aesthetic. We will review any inspiration photos that you have and take you through our detailed style exercise so that we are all confident that the project will be 100% you.
While you are discussing your project needs and goals with your Designer, our Project Management team will take measurements and photos of the space in order for us to get everything we need to begin your project.
At the end of this session we will take about a week to really noodle on your design, call our trade partners, and crunch numbers on what exactly it will cost to pull off what you want to do.
Then, we will get together virtually for a proposal meeting where we will sit down to go over the budget figures with you sharing exactly what it will take to complete the project. If you’re in at that point, we will dive into a detailed design questionnaire and get your project rolling!
The investment for this session is $300 + HST and we credit that cost towards your design package should you choose to move forward from there. This means that you can dip your toe into what it’s like to work with us before fully committing to the project!
